We are a boutique health law practice that provides a broad array of legal services to health care clients and welfare benefit plans.  We have extensive experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulatory issues, compliance issues, and audits involving hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, hospice, and home health.

Our in-depth knowledge of legal issues facing long-term acute care hospitals (LTCHs) is based upon years of experience advising LTCH companies both large and small, as well as serving as General Counsel to the leading LTCH trade association, ALTHA.

We act as appeal representative to all types of health care providers in both Medicare appeals and Medicaid appeals challenging adverse reimbursement, coverage, certification, and classification determinations.  We work with provider clients from the early stages of proposed determinations through judicial review by the federal and state courts.  Our goal is simple:  to achieve a favorable resolution of the matter at the earliest opportunity.

Based in downtown Washington, DC, we are close to the Congress, the Department of Health and Human Services, administrative tribunals, and the federal courts.  We have years of experience advocating for our clients' interests with federal agencies and in support of advocacy campaigns with legislators.

We also help sponsors of welfare benefit plans understand and comply with federal and state laws, including COBRA and HIPAA, by drafting plan documentation and participant communications, and advising clients on claim and appeal compliance, Medicare Secondary Payer rules and Affordable Care Act implementation.
